Mt Morris Motocross 2011

250 practice

it was BB57 up front and was flying then it was Rattray Durham and Wilson. Baggett was looking strong and back on form after making some costly mistakes in the texas heat. Rattray was just looking great this guy is a championship guy. Durham on his home track was flying. Wilson was also right there but looked to be struggling. Im sure hell turn it around for the Moto’s

450 Pracitice The supercross champ RV2 was up front early setting a time of 2:11 following him was Reed, Windham, Alessi, defending champ dungey was off by about a second in fifth. There were 62 riders trying to qualify and the track was getting chewed up fast.

450 Moto 1

Looked as though RD5  was going to take the holeshot but Rv2 snagged it away and was your leader coming around the first lap. Lap two and Villopoto is looking like the guy we are used to seeing outdoors he’s flying and gapping the field. There wasn’t a whole lot of shuffling going on at the halfway point. After thirty minutes plus two laps it was Rv2 with his first moto win in demanding fashion. RD5 was second then an impressive third by mike Alessi in his comeback from his fall in the Hangtown practice session. Reed was fourth Kdub fifth (6)weimer (7)Metcalfe (8)Craig with another great ride (9) Hahn. Another great top ten ride for Tommy

250 Moto 1

It’s (Double D) Durham with the lead and he’s on the gas and not taking any shit from the likes of those factory riders. The kid goes to the track in a box van. He does have one of the fastest privateer bikes on the track built by 11-10 mods but still he’s out front and killing it. Lap ten and its still Durham out front with a great ride going. Wilson seems to have rebounded from practice and has moved his way in to second place and is the leading the pro-circuit train of himself Baggett and Rattray. Behind the green squad its Cunningham, Tomac, Izzi, and Mookie Stewart. Sadly on lap thirteen it starts to unravel for Durham as Baggett gets by him then the rest of the P/C train attacks pushing him in to fourth. At the finish its Baggett with the win Wilson second And Rattray third. Durham finished a respectable fourth with one of the best privateer rides put forth in as long as I can remember. Cunningham was Fifth then Tomac, Izzi, Barcia, M Stewart And Tickle rounded out the top ten.

450 Moto 2

Well what was a beautiful day in PA turned in to a Mudder, which is nothing out of the ordinary for this state and this time of the year. Alessi grabs one of his patented hole-shots and is the early leader of Moto two. Alessi was out front till Reed put on a second moto charge and got by Alessi. Man Reed has been on a tear in these second moto’s. Beginning of lap six and it’s the 22 leading Alessi in second the first moto winner RV2 in third with Dungey and Millsaps not far behind.  Lap ten and Reed is putting on a clinic with a thirteen second lead over the second place rider RV2. Where RV2 sits he will take the overall and Reed will still leave with the points lead. This race was a bit shorter in laps only running 14 laps with Chad Reed winning the moto, and keeping his second moto win streak alive. Second goes to RV2 Third goes to Dungey (4)Alessi (5)Windham (6)Dietrich (7)Hahn (8)Wey (9)Metcalfe (10)Weimer.

The overall went to RV2 With Dungey taking second on the day and Reed taking third on the day

250 moto 2

Blake Baggett is killing it today with another strong start and has the lead. On what some would say isn’t even the same track with all the rain he is putting forth a ride that reminded me of Rv2 when he was on 250f’s. No shock considering both of these guys grew up racing together and were best buds. Five laps in and its BB57 still out front and hasn’t been challenged and it doesn’t look as though anyone has the speed to catch him. Rattray is in second with Seely putting on a good ride in third. This race goes a total of fifteen laps and BB57 rides to the moto win and overall with a one/one. Rattray takes second Tomac third. (4)Tickle with a strong ride it seems like he’s getting a little bit better every moto. (5)Seely with his best ride thus far. (6) Martin with a great ride in the top ten. (7)Barcia (8)Wilson (9)Baker (10 Stewart with a good top ten ride this kid is getting more consistent every week and when he can learn to blend his raw speed with some patience he will be a threat for some podiums.

Freestone Motocross 2011

i think this sums up the type of day it was in texas...

450 moto 1

Christian Craig with the holeshot and the early lead Weimer reed and Millsaps is right there as well along with Pourcel are all upfront. Craig is out front and is looking calm and collected. He looks damn good on a 450. Pourcel is in second and looks like a different rider compared to last week. I will say that pourcel’s bike doesn’t look to be on par as far as handling goes compared to the other front runner’s. at the halfway mark and Craig is still leading this thing. With pourcel reed and dungey are right behind. Well now pourcel is sitting down and cruising both dungey and reed went by and hes going backwards fast. With twelve minutes to go Reed gets by Craig who is still riding great. 3 minutes plus two laps to go and windhams bike is letting loose smoking and ruining his chance at the top five run he had going. Reed takes a convincing moto win over dungey. RV2 came from outside of the top 15 all the way back to third on a tough Texan day. Millsaps ended up with fourth and Craig was fifth. (6)Weimer (7)Hahn (8)Dietrich (9)Metcalfe (10)Wey

250 moto 1

Barcia takes the holeshot followed by Musquin and Baggett. Halfway through the first lap Barcia tucks the front end and takes Musquin down with him. Musquin walked away grasping his wrist/hand. I hope this isn’t the last we see of him this summer. 5 minutes in and Baggett is upfront with Wilson, Izzi, Rattray, Cunningham, Swanepoel, Sipes, Vincent, Seely, Tomac, Lemoine, and Durham are your top twelve. Baggett falls and hands the lead over to Wilson and falls back to fourteenth. At the halfway mark its still Wilson out front with Rattray in second and Texas native Cunningham in third. Swanepoel is in fourth Izzi is in fifth and looks to be fading. Tomac is sixth Lemoine Seventh and Baggett eighth. Lance Vincent geico Honda replacement rider is running inside the top ten with ninth. Wilson takes the win Rattray takes second. A great ride for Cunningham in third and Swanepoel for fourth. Then it was Tomac, Izzi, Baggett, Lemoine, Barcia And Davalos was the top ten from moto 1.

450 Moto 2

Metcalfe takes the holeshot with his team mate Dungey right next to him both REED and dungey make quick work of Metcalfe and are out front. Dietrich is upfront early and ready for a long moto. Ten minutes in to the second moto, and its Dungey up front with Reed running second after tipping over and giving up some time to Dungey. Millsaps is running third with Metcalfe and Villopoto right behind. With ten minutes plus two left and the top ten is stagnant with everyone putting in solid laps. With two laps to go Dungey is out of the moto with a mechanical DNF handing the race win and the overall to Reed. Millsaps had a absolute great ride with second. Dietrich Races to third his best finish ever. RV2 was fourth Short fifth. (6)weimer (7)Craig (8)windham (9)Byrne (10)wey.

250 Moto 2

not starting this moto is Musquin he actually compound fractured his thumb in the crash with Barcia and is out. (bambam) Barcia takes the holeshot again with Wilson and izzi in second and third. Cunningham running fourth with a good start to the second moto. Eight minutes in and Wilson goes for the pass on Barcia tags his rear wheel and goes down. Now Barcia has a huge lead and Wilson is having a hell of a time getting the bike started and finally gets back going in eighth. This drama puts Cunningham in second. Halfway mark and its Barcia upfront with Cunningham in second followed by Rattray, Izzi, Tomac, Wilson, Seely, Tickle, Davalos, And Anderson. 3 laps to go and Rattray has caught and passed bambam. Tyla Rattray takes the win and the overall here at texas with a showing of how tough he really is. Barcia takes second Wilson in third. (4)Cunningham which put him on the podium overall(5)Tickle (6)tomac (7)Davalos (8)Seely (9)Howell on a privateer Suzuki in the top 10 (10)vincent

Hangtown Motocross 2011
Written by Nick Thiel

Leading in to Hangtown was by far the best Supercross season we have ever seen. With Ryan villopoto winning the championship. Now with the racing moving outdoors we will see who has done the necessary homework in the off weeks to come out swinging at the first race of the series in sacramento at hangtown mx.

450 Moto 1

Kdub jumps out for the holeshot aboard the factory Honda. With Christian craig right behind him. K dub was leading for a while early on but with only one day of riding since his crash in vegas he looked like he was getting tired and was moving backwards. Dungey took over the lead and was on it. Dungey took the moto win with Reed having a great moto in second. The newly crowned supercross champion RV2 ended up third . Millsaps was fourth and looking better then he did all year in supercross. Then it was Metcalfe in fifth on his rockstar Makita Suzuki. Windham right behind him and Pourcel Hahn short and Byrne rounded out your top ten.

Lites moto1

Eli tomac grabs the holeshot . sipes went down hard in the first turn. the man on the move the whole moto was Baggett coming from 12th at one point to finishing second. He was unable to catch Wilson who started upfront and took the moto win. Tomac finished third in his return to hangtown. Which was a great result considering his focus was on the supercross championship for the past month. Musquin finished fourth in his debut to the ama nationals. Behind him was Rattray Barcia Seely Cunningham Swanepoel and Durham.

450 moto 2< ;/p>

Its Rv2 with the holeshot and the early lead with dungey reed windham and brown right there as well. Nine minutes in to the second moto and its still Rv2 out front with dungey all over him. Reed is right behind them as well

. Windham is a few seconds back. Then you have to go back fifteen seconds to the next pack consisting of weimer short and millsaps. These top three guys are flying running three seconds a lap faster then anyone else. At the halfway mark of the moto these three are separated by no more then a second and are still flying. Dungey gets by Rv2 and makes it stick this time. Reed is all over RV2 now and looks to be on a mission. Now its Reed by Rv2 and looking to get Dungey next. Nine minutes plus 2 to go and its Reed with a commanding lead and not slowing down. Dungey is in second and looks like he’s on cruise control now. Then dungey puts on a late charge with three laps left its getting close. Two laps to go and Reed only has a second over Dungey. Dungey makes a few mistakes and Reed has pulled away. Reed takes the win with dungey in second. RV2 takes third with Kdub in fourth Metcalfe fifth (6)weimer with a much better second moto showing. (7)millsaps (8)Hahn (9)dietrich (10)craig with a great ride

Lites moto 2

This moto its Barcia with the holeshot followed by a mess of monster energy pro circuit riders. Musquin and davalos go down in the first corner and have there work cut out for them to make it in to the top 10. Swanepoel is in the top five again. 9 minutes in to the moto and Barcia tags a haybail going over the bars handing the lead over to Rattray with last years winner Tomac right behind him. With fifteen minutes plus two to go it’s a monster energy train out front with Rattray Wilson and Baggett out front tomac in fourth. Musquin is on a tear and is up to twelfth. With eight minutes plus two to go Wilson goes down right in front of Baggett. Baggett is into second now and is the fastest man on the track. Five minutes plus two to go and Baggett is giving Rattray hell. With three minuts plus two to go Baggett gets his team mate Rattray and charges to the end. For the win and the overall it was a monster energy pro circuit podium sweep at hangtown with the ride of the day Musquin made his way all the way back up to sixth after being on the ground the first lap.
